About Fairfields Teaching School Alliance
Teaching Schools were introduced by the government to enhance school improvement. As an outstanding school, Fairfields School was designated in 2012 by the National College for Teaching and Leadership. Our alliance comprises over 40 primary, secondary and special schools across Northamptonshire, committed to working in partnership to improve teaching and learning and provide the best outcomes for pupils.
We provide high quality training and support to schools across the county. We encourage our partner schools to share best practice, learn from each other and become contributors to the alliance. All member schools benefit from professional development for staff and effective support to improve learning outcomes. We strive to fully support our schools to become outstanding.

Our Teaching School
Our offer follows the principles of the “Big Three” for teaching schools
(1) Initial Teacher Training
We provide training for those wishing to become teachers through our School Direct programme which has been thoughtfully desgined to expose trainees to school settings and develop their abilities through learning on the job.
(2) Continued Professional Development
We offer an extensive CPD programme that aims to improve teaching practice and provision in schools.
(3) School to School Support
Our highly experienced practioners including Specialist Leaders in Education, Local Leaders in Education and National Leaders in Education are on hand to assist improvements in your school and outcomes for pupils.
For academic year 2019-2020, our alliance member schools will be able to build a CPD programme that fits their individual school needs. Each member school is entitled to a FREE place on one of our extended CPD programmes and can benefit from over 40 free CPD individual training sessions. Members will also receive discounts on the majority of our charged courses and have exclusive access to a range of network groups as part of their membership package. Don’t forget, membership also enables you to keep up to date with the latest updates via our website, newsletters and events.
