Singapore Bar Maths CANCELLED

With new initiatives being released to support with the teaching of mathematics, it can be difficult to make a decision on which to go for. This practical course spread out over three sessions looks into the benefit of using the Singapore Bar model as a ‘dip in’ strategy resource for all children from years 1 through to 6. There will also be examples of how to use the CPA (concrete, pictorial and abstract) approach in line with the model.
Session 1: Part-part-whole and addition/subtraction - 30th September 2019
Session 2: Multiplication/division and fractions - 11th November 2019
Session 3: Support for advanced learners and learners who are struggling - 2nd March 2020

Making Maths Memorable CANCELLED
An opportunity to explore multi-sensory teaching in maths, with a focus on developing number sense across the different areas of the curriculum. This will be through a range of representations along with how to allow the children to move from concrete representations to pictorial and abstract.
This course will be useful for both KS1 and KS2 to see the progression of multi-sensory teaching of number across the year groups.
